This Doritos taco salad recipe has been mentioned multiple times by my childrenas being their most favorite dinner of all time. There is just something special about eating right out of a Doritos bag. The delicious crunch of the chips, the crisp fresh lettuce shredded to perfection, ground beef with just the right amount of spice. It’s so fun!
Doritos Taco Salad Recipe (In a BAG)
All you need to do is brown a pound of ground beef. Drain it, then add back to the pan with 1 cup of water and some taco seasoning. Simmer 4 minutes. Then crush up your chips, cut open the bag and add in your toppings like cheese, sour cream, meat and salsa. Eat right out of the bag with a fork!
So fun.
I hope you enjoy this Doritos taco salad recipe as much as we do!

By the way you could easily cook up your taco meat in advance, freeze it and just reheat it on the day of your dinner. See other make ahead and freeze meal ideas here.

Great recipe! I absolutely love it. I had it for dinner, I am from South Africa so they usually don’t have this. Thanks!

Can you correct the carb count on this? The Doritos alone are usually about 16g so how does it total 0.6? Thanks!!

The high schools around us sell this at football and basketball games, although sometimes it is with Fritos. It is easy to put together, kids (and adults) love it and when sold in the snack bar, it makes $ for the athletic teams because it is a “fan favorite”.Reply

Haha, my eldest and my husband would each eat a BIG bag of Doritos this way! I use Doritos for my taco salad, but I always buy the big bag and we dish it, but I love this idea, especially since it cuts down on the dish-washing. Thank you!Reply

Yup, totally love this one!! Although most of the time we just buy the big bag of Doritos and make the salad in a bowl.

We do this with Fritos and canned chili instead of ground beef. We’ll definitely have to try it this way too. I LOVE how easy it is and my kids LOVE it!
