Implants are so popular and revolutionary to dentistry because they are the first form of tooth replacement that is designed like real, natural teeth. Each natural tooth is much more than its crown or the white visible part of the tooth. What you cant see is connective tissue, root canals, nerves, and blood vessels in the underlying inner part of the tooth . Notable to this conversation, the roots anchor the teeth in the jawbone. Implants are designed to function like tooth roots. For this reason, implant-supported teeth are known for their superior stability. The answer to both questions is yes, sometimes and to some extent.
If you happen to have dental insurance, the odds are that your plan offers no coverage for dental implants, because most plans dont. Those that do come with higher premiums, usually contain limiting terms and conditions, and probably wont cover the majority of your procedure, unless youre only looking to replace a single tooth.

In most cases, Medicaid will not cover dental implants. This is because Medicaid is a government program that is intended to provide added financial support for low-income families who might not otherwise be able to afford dental and medical care.
Dental implants are usually considered to be cosmetic procedures that are not essential to the health and well-being of covered individuals. These elective procedures are usually denied for coverage by Medicaid. There are some exceptions, however.
Patients who can demonstrate that they have a significant and documented medical need for dental implants may be approved for these procedures.
